China Through Chinese Eyes explores the social, cultural and economic issues facing Chinese communities, documented by Chinese photographers. Exhibited for the first time at Photoville, these images offer a fresh and nuanced view of a dynamic country. The photos are drawn from Depth of Field, an online column that highlights the new and newsworthy photojournalism published in Chinese media by Chinese visual storytellers. The exhibition is curated by Ye Charlotte Ming, Yan Cong and David M. Barreda. This exhibit was made possible with the generous support of Sixth Tone, a member of the Shanghai United Media Group.
